Checking “See a Conan O’Brien television taping in New York” off my bucket list.

I went to my first taping of Late Night in 2006 when he was filming at the Chicago Theater. My mom and I drove over 300 miles to Chicago, stood in line for six hours and got front row seats. Dave Chappelle and Common were the guests and I got a basketball prop from George Wendt’s brief appearance.

In 2009, I went to L.A. to visit Mitchell Wojcik and went to Conan’s tenth day of taping The Tonight Show. The studio experience was extremely different than the theater full of 3,000 people and I’m glad I was able to see the short lived Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. Dane Cook, Steven Ho and Rancid were the guests.

Which brings to me New York. Third city, (the most important in my eyes because it’s where Conan started), third show and third taping. Though the balcony seats were a bit disappointing due to assigned seats, I immediately got the same overwhelming excited feeling as Conan graced the stage. Matthew Broderick and Paul Simon were the guests.
